A shooting happened in Montreal on Monday at noon. It killed three people. The people who died were a police officer, a person and the person who was shooting. This shocked people, in the city.
The shooting happened in a neighbourhood with some shops and restaurants. There are markets and restaurants there. The police did not say why the gunman did it. They also did not say if it was a hate crime or an act of terror.

The word incel means that someone is not able to have a partner even though they want one. This is usually talking about men who’re straight and cannot find a female partner. These men can sometimes do extreme things.

The police got a call about someone shooting a gun in the Côte–Neiges neighbourhood in Montreal at around 11:30 am. The police went to the place and the person who was shooting started shooting at them from inside a building. The person was using a gun.
A man named Frank Vogas was buying paint in a store when he heard the gunshots. He said he saw the police come into the store with their guns. The police told the people in the store to get down on the floor.
A man named Danny Wilk lives in the Côte-desNeiges neighbourhood. He said he was on the street near his home when he heard the gunshots. He tried to hide in a pizzeria. That is when he saw the person who was shooting. The person was wearing clothes like the wears.
Danny Wilk said he saw a police officer on the ground who was dead. Then the police stopped the person who was shooting.
The police chief, Fady Dagher said that one police officer, a man was killed. Another police officer, a woman was hurt badly but she will be okay. The person who was shooting was wearing clothes that looked like clothes.
The Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney said he was very upset by what happened. However the details, about the person who was killed who was not a police officer are not known yet.
